just do it

Occasionally I share a bit about myself, and today I started exercising again :)

To be honest, I'm not one of those eager beaver fitness freaks who just LOVE exercising... in fact I find it to be a bit of a shlep. But there are those things in life that we just need to do sometimes, whether we want to or not.

So I'm walking - at least it's a start :p

pedro and friends

Meet Pedro (on the right).

Pedro is one of my little friends who occasionally come to visit here in Cape Town. Today, he introduced me to his little friend, Sanchez. They are the bestest of friends and go on many adventures together.

Be warned that this will not be the only time you see Pedro :)

TODAY IS DAY 80 OF THE BLOG - WOOP WOOP!!!

Yes, it seems that spring has finally sprung in the Cape, and my mom bought me flowers over the weekend! :)

5 a day...

For those of you who really follow my every day: you would've noticed that I've been absent the last 4 days. Alas, I was away...

My mom came to visit from Pretoria and we went away for the weekend, to Paternoster, on the West Coast. It was magnificent to get away from the city buzz, and to spend some time with my mom and sister. Total bliss!

I've selected 5 of my favourite photos of the weekend, and I hope you enjoy. This will only happen when I don't have internet connection, or when I'm away - from everything technological :)

Also, I did my second wedding yesterday and it was absolutely wonderful! It rained, and it pored, but we took some amazing photos and I'm sure the result will be super! Will keep you posted on that!

korrel

My mom arrived in Cape Town today, and she's staying for the weekend!

I LOVE my mom, and I call her 'korrel', it's the afrikaans word for crumb... I have absolutely no idea where that name comes from... but it's stuck... and so it will remain!

a is for autism

Autism.

Most people don't know enough about it to say anything valuable, and Hollywood doesn't help with the portrayal of the condition..

I work with Autistic children, it's my job. I LOVE MY JOB, and yes, I love the kids too. Everyday is an adventure, and the kids never cease to amaze us! People tend to believe that we make a difference in their lives, but tonight I realised that they are the ones making the difference.

I challenge all my followers, to somehow, meet an autistic child or adult. Spend time with them, and allow them to show you a little piece of their world. You won't be disappointed!

p.s the colour coded yarn-frame is to show that we all have a little autism in us somewhere - me included :)

tired

It's not often that I post myself onto my blog... but I was just too tired tonight to do anything else :)

Let's just say today was a tiring day... emotionally, physically and spiritually! Luckily I know where my strength comes from!!!
