MAJESTY

I climbed 112 steps for this photo this afternoon... I can't say anymore - the photo speaks for itself ;)

Sunday, August 29

poser!!

The brutal truth of today's blog is... I'm a day behind.. OOPS. Oh well, I suppose life happens in between all the photos... and I'm sure not a lot of people will notice anyway :p

Yesterday, I had an engagement photo shoot with two of my friends, and it was FANTASTIC.... photos are to follow soon. We were in the Cape Town Gardens, and found this little guy, sitting on a tree stump. He was such a little poser, and although you might think I used some intense zoom or something - think again - I was literally this close to him... and he loved it! :)

ayoba!!!

Tonight (Friday - 27/08) marked my first live game at the Greenpoint Soccer stadium in Cape Town. It was awesomeness!! Great 'gees' and just so much fun!!

I just love the mexican wave, and tried to capture a bit of first hand action when the wave came past ;)

put on your dancing shoes...

I watched Step Up 3D tonight... for the second time.

Conclusion - I AM GOING TO START DANCING... I've ALWAYS wanted to.

... watch this space!

loose wires

So this is one of the faces I pull everyday... as per entertainment of the kids in my class - they love me for it!

Monday, August 23

manual vs electronical

What would you prefer?...

A hand written letter from a friend in another province, or a typed email - that could virtually be done, hassle free.

I like the effort, the extra pictures, that little bit of love that you can FEEL when reading a hand written letter :)

sunday in V&A

Almost a little scary how many people spend their Sundays in shopping malls... although the weather was quite sad today - and a movie is in order on such sad weather days!

Saturday, August 21

for a 25 hour day

Hehe... just before this photo, I was sitting on my haunches and fell over - it was quite funny.

I LOVE BAR ONE...

time for tea

Everyday at school I make everyone tea or coffee... about three times during the day.

Did I hear anyone say tea-lady??

Wednesday, August 18

7:30

BEAUTIFUL sunrise (although not beautifully captured) this morning on my way to work!! I will have to pull off one morning to take a proper photo...

Tuesday, August 17

memories

My dad took a photo of me, on these swings, when I was about one year old...

Lara and I walked on the promenade this afternoon and the sun was perfect for this photo. Who would've thought that 24 years after the 'swing-photo', I would be living in Green Point, Cape Town :)

Monday, August 16

admiration ;)

When I came home today the sun was setting and I saw these 3 people on their roof, admiring the sunset!

I love that I'm not the only one who loves a beautiful sunset, beautiful clouds, or anything beautiful!

Open your eyes today, and see something beautiful :)

Sunday, August 15

potential

While visiting a friend in the Bo-Kaap today, I saw this house and thought... WOW, this place has potential.

Maybe one day I'll buy it and turn it into a coffee shop, slash craft shop :)

Saturday, August 14

friends and food

I LOVE a good braai.
I LOVE my friends!

I LOVE impulsive Saturday night 'kuiers' with good food and good friends!!!

the end of an era..

In 2007 I bought a guitar in London Town, to keep me busy... I taught myself and also had a great teacher - I LOVED IT.

Came back to South Africa in 2008, and never really played again. As hard as it was to admit... my guitar playing season was over. After the hard realisation I decided it was time to sell my Fender... and start saving for my camera :) (which isn't all that bad..)

An awesome photographer (isn't it ironic), who plays in a band bought my guitar this week, and is coming to pick it up later today. He's going to use my (his) guitar for song writing, and my heart is sooo happy that my guitar will be put to good use.

I loved every minute of playing on my Fender - and maybe one day I'll get another one!! But for now, it's time to say goodbye :(

Thursday, August 12

shake and bake..

Baking is one of my favourite past times, and that's one of the reasons my flatmate loves me..haha.

Came home after work today and decided that it's a good time for baking some rusks (beskuit)... and seeing that I don't really eat them, my flatmate is going to be SUPER happy - because she LOVES them with her morning coffee :)

has it really been a month?

11 July 2010 was the final of the FIFA World Cup Soccer... and Spain were crowned the kings! I can't believe that it's already been a month since the end of all the excitement... but it's true.

Feel it, it's gone.

Ok, so I didn't give all the shine to the Cape Town stadium (which you can see at the very bottom of the photo)... because again today, the clouds were BEAUTIFUL!!! And I'm obsessed with clouds - as I've also said!

P.S TODAY ALSO MARKS THE MONTH ANNIVERSARY OF MY BLOG :) :) :)

Tuesday, August 10

strawberry dreams..

Today's photo was taken this afternoon in Paarl. The Strawberry King sell fresh strawberries every year, and my friend Annalizé told me that this year the strawberries came two months early.

I wish I had a different lens for this photo, but I like it nontheless :)

Monday, August 9

winter?? really??

This year, Cape Town hasn't really had a winter. To be honest, most of our days have been sunny, and even though we have temperatures of under 20 degrees (only now and then), it really hasn't been that cold.

I drove up Top Road in Fresnaye today, and had the most amazing views from up there! What a beautiful day!

Fun Fact: I'm totally OBSESSED with clouds... and couldn't resist this photo today :)

Sunday, August 8

guava-licious

I LOVE guavas :) That's about all I have to say.

Fantastic that you get to buy four of these good guys for only R2.55.... did anyony say BARGAIN???

Friday, August 6

who remembers LEGO?

The kids at school, especially the one little boy, LOVES to play with blocks... We get donated a lot of toys and equipment so the things get mixed up... but amongst all the blocks I occasionally find LEGO pieces.

I LOVED LEGO when I was small... I LOVED IT!!!

Thursday, August 5

our very own london eye

For the 2010 World Cup Soccer, someone decided that South Africa needed it's very own 'little' London Eye. It's not a London Eye, and doesn't even come close... but it's a good attempt at a very good idea.

Unfortunately this little eye will only grace Cape Town for another 3 months or so, before they take it down again. Oh well, at least we had it a little while. Feel it, it's almost gone :p

Wednesday, August 4

it's a date

All this excitement is bubbling out of me - and I just cannot stop it... So forgive me for posting photos that only has to do with Peartree's ALP... but I cannot stop this!

I got my dates today - my first wedding will be on the 11th of September, and I will do 8 weddings before the end of the year... there are no words.

That's all for now. I promise more exciting photos again soon... just bare with my excitement for now... although I don't think it's going to wear off..hehe.

Tuesday, August 3

Unjustifiable...

I'm living in some or other dream... I'm sure...

I had my first 'meeting' tonight with the Peartree ALP gang, and it was awesome. My first official wedding shoot will be sometime in September - and I'm OVER THE MOON. Ok, just to clarify... the first wedding that I will ASSIST, will be in September..hehe..

So, this photo doesn't justify ANYTHING... and it's not even in focus. All it's saying, is that I REALLY needed to go to the toilet after the meeting :p That's about all it says.

Monday, August 2

painting with light... or a wooden spoon

Today was a good day for an experiment... and I've never tried 'light-painting' before. From here on out I will try writing words, and make it a bit more interesting BUT my method was quite inventive ;)

DON'T TRY THIS AT HOME!!

I didn't have anything that would stay alight long enough, nor did I have anything to produce enough light...
While rummaging through the flat I came across our wooden spoon (yes - the one used for cooking), and set it alight. It worked wonderfully!

Sunday, August 1

my space

So as this blog goes on I'll share bits and pieces about my life - I like to do that... but all in good time.

This is one of the walls in my room... it's my inspiration wall where you can find a few of my favourite people, a few of my favourite scriptures, and a few of my favourite things :)

I like this wall... it's a little crazy - just like me :)
